Tree of Life Hollow

The Mares

The foundation of the breeding program — mares selected for heritage bloodlines, proven disposition, and the qualities worth carrying forward into the next generation.

Our Broodmares

In any honest conservation program, the mares are the anchor. They carry the foals, they set the early imprint, and their temperament shapes more of what a horse becomes than any other single factor. Every mare at Tree of Life Hollow was chosen with that weight in mind.

Our mares carry documented Colonial Spanish Horse lineage with emphasis on the Choctaw strain. They are working partners and breeding animals both — some have been in the hunt field, some have raised foals here on the farm, some have done both.

A good mare is not incidental to the program. She is the program.

Meet the Mares

Tabac Rouge

Tabac Rouge

TABAC X BROOM TAIL OWACHITA — We didn’t go looking for Tabac Rouge. But that’s when Rouge appeared. She walked up, assessed the situation, and placed her head in Tim’s lap.

Burn The Ships

“Rosa”

COLONIAL SPANISH HORSE — She carries no strain designation we can confirm. But she was the horse that required everything — and gave back more than we thought possible.

Cannelle d'Or

Mare · HOA #2478

Cannelle d’Or

TABAC GOLD X SONYA — Tim went out to put a saddle on her for the first time and came back having taken her for a ride. But when the saddle pad touched her back, Cannelle d’Or made her position clear: she was not interested in a gradual introduction. She was ready.
